Description
This German Tazza was made in 1841 by the royal silversmiths Humbert and sons and presented to the King of Prussia.
The Tazza stands 9 1/4″ tall and weighs 45 troy oz. It is engraved with the royal crown and initials of King Friedrich Wilhem IV. The bowl is fluted with grapes hanging from the edge. The pedestal is in the shape of a vine, with grapes and leaves hanging in a naturalistic form. The silver standard is 14 loth =14/16 or .875/1000 silver. This piece is pictured on page 86, illustration #66 of “Kaiserlichs Gold Und Silber”, printed in Berlin in 1986.
